Ozark, Alabama

Jul 9, 2014, 10:47 AM

Hi there guys!! Steve and I are in Ozark, Alabama for my brother Brian's graduation from Warrant Officer School. We left Florida on Monday. The trip up was not bad at all. We didn't break any land speed records but we didn't have any major delays either. So all in all a good trip. We got to the campground and we were greeted by a very nice lady, she showed us to our site and gave us some helpful info about getting to the base. The campground isn't much but it is perfectly situated, we aren't more then a quarter mile down the road from the motel family is staying at and only about ten minutes from the base.

Yesterday we met up with Kirsten and the kids to see Brian's class perform their final team building song. It was the first opportunity Kirsten and the kids had to see Brian and they were very excited. Charlotte, the two year old, just lit up when she saw Brian. It was adorable. We had lunch together then Steve and I took the kids to the hotel to go swimming, there is a real benefit to having family stay at the hotel because there is no pool at this little campground. We swam for a couple hours with the kids and tracked the progress of daddy and Sandy's flight. Of course nothing to do with air travel anymore is easy and they ran into several delays before getting here.

Today was the Victory Run. It started at OH MY GOD IT'S EARLY, or for all of you non military types 6 AM. Now when Brian sent his schedule out, I took one look at it and announced, "we will NOT be attending the Victory Run". Brian and Steve were instant messaging and all of a sudden we are going. Whatever!!!!!! I was really glad we did, my internal clock is still on eastern time so it didn't seem all that early and it was fun to see the newer candidates out there doing their PT stuff before congratulating Brian's group as they ran through.

Tomorrow is the graduation, so be looking for an update. I think the rest of the day we should sit by the pool and just relax, it was an early morning!!
