My goodness, Steve and I have been busy since last we spoke. We arrived safe and sound in Pennsylvania and we have been having a blast. We have gone on a hike, we have visited with my sister and her family, we have been going all over the Amish countryside, did shopping and walked through the green dragon, we drove through the Gettysburg battlefields, we have toured the Herr's Potato Chip Factory, we've gone to a wedding, we even managed to sneak a trip to the World Of Chocolate in Hershey and the Hershey museum, and Steve even had a day with Robert and Alex flying remote control air planes. It is always nonstop with us. We have had a few days we relaxed, but pretty much it's been go, go, go.
Kim, Catherine, and I are working on learning to do some canning. That has been hit or miss although we have had the best time doing it. We made some strawberry jalapeƱo jam. The first batch was too mild so we tried again. The second was so spiced I thought we might have to call the paramedics for Catherine. Of course that caused lots of laughs.
The location of the campground is a high point looking out over the patchwork of Amish farms. It is just so beautiful and we are constantly adding about five minutes to driving times because of getting stuck behind horse drawn buggies. It isn't a bother though when you look into the sweet faces of the Amish children in the back window of the buggies waving at you.
Spanky has been able to get into a few photos and it just seems that our time is flying by. Before you know it we are going to be heading home again. So our plan for tomorrow is to go pick some peaches. I am looking forward to this, we are going to be up to our eyeballs in peaches. YUM!!!!
The upcoming events include a trip to a mushroom festival with my dad and step-mother, driving to the poconos, hopefully seeing a hot air balloon festival, and more (but don't tell Steve that, he thinks he needs a day or two to relax -- AGAIN!!!, come on, not necessary.) See ya all soon!
