We went into Charleston today. On our last trip to Charleston we found a little jewel of a restaurant, The Boulevard Diner. I had completely forgotten about it, but Steve wanted to see if it was still there. It still had a good rating on Yelp so we went there again this trip for lunch. Oh it was just as good as we remembered. We had this sweet little waitress who was starting her first day and we were her first customer. She was just adorable and she did one hell of a job. We were very pleased with her service and we made sure to encourage her and let her know she was doing great.
Then we wanted to get to the historic district so we went back to the visitors center and got on the trolley. They have made the trolley free since we were last here. We made our first stop Waterfront Park, this was so different than the last time we'd been here. They must have made lots of improvements to the area. It was all new, which is funny in a historic city. We walked around the waterfront the to the city market. We found our Benne Cookies in the market. They are so very good and something you can only get in this area. We bought one bag, then as soon as I tasted it and remembered how good they are, we bought a second bag. We walked and looked at each and every shop. When we were done in the market, we were done. We went back to the visitors center. We went to the elevator in the parking garage and it was the damnedest thing, an older couple that we'd gotten on the elevator with when we arrived and chatted with were approaching the elevator again too. Is that unbelievable or what? So we chatted again and then they got off the elevator.
What a great day we had. Right now my darling husband is grilling me a steak and potato for dinner. Tomorrow we are going to the Boone Hall Plantation. I can't wait!!!!!! I'm hopeful there will be some magnolia trees in bloom and I can get some nice photos. So stay tuned for the next blog.
